The Gift of Dyslexia (revised edition)
Ronald Davis has created an approach to teaching dyslexics that is now used in over 40 countries. It has achieved incredible results. He explains how to change the life of a dyslexic in The Gift of Dyslexia.
Dyslexics think in pictures rather than in words. Focusing on this distinctive learning style, The Gift of Dyslexia provides the practical skills that allow students of all ages the fullest expression of their innate gifts, and thus paves the way to achieving success in life.
At 18, Ronald Davis was told that he would never be able to read properly, though he was not diagnosed with dyslexia until he was in his twenties. With a successful business career and an IQ of 167, he remained frustrated by his continuing inability to read. Then he discovered that he and other dyslexics thought in three-dimensional images rather than words, which helped to explain why learning to read by conventional methods was difficult. He has gone on to found Davis Dyslexia Association International, which teaches his methods to adults and children, all around the world.
Revised and updated, with a foreward by Linda Kreger Silverman.author of Upside-Down Brilliance: The Visual-Spatial Learner, The Gift of Dyslexia provides new sections on Ronald Davis’ teaching techniques, and a framework for teachers and parents to use.
