Evelyn has an honours degree in physics from London University, and followed a career in I.T. for many years. She discovered Davis® Dyslexia by accident, while looking for help for her friend's child, and became very interested when it made such a huge difference to a very dyslexic teenager she knew. His reading improved, and soon he was able to write, which was completely new.
Evelyn trained formally as a Davis Facilitator from October 2000, graduating in July 2003. Concurrent with this, she worked as a Learning Support Assistant in a State Comprehensive School for 11-16 year olds. During this time she used Davis strategies to help dyslexic and disruptive pupils, with some very satisfying results.
Since Dyslexia Surrey was formed in 2003, Evelyn has helped adults and children of a variety of ages and with difficulties ranging from reading and writing, through clumsiness, maths, attention and behavioural difficulties, to change their lives and reach their goals.
