Anne originally trained as a teacher in 1985, although her specific interest in helping children with reading difficulties began when she realised that the three or four children in every class who had some difficulty learning to read or write needed a different way of learning in order to achieve their full potential.
Having moved from the classroom to tutoring these children one-to-one, she found that nearly every parent told her of the difficulties they were having getting the right help for their children in school, mainly due to lack of teachers’ time and specialist knowledge.
When Anne found the Davis methods, she discovered that they could have a profound effect on a child’s ability to do well at school. Testimonials from the parents of children Anne has worked with, indicate that improvement in a child’s skills is often dramatic following a Davis programme.
In addition to her work with children, Anne also uses the Davis methods to help adult learners.
